The third edition of the Make It In The Emirates (MIITE) Forum took place from 27-28 May 2024 at the Abu Dhabi Energy Center, organized by the Ministry of Industry and Advanced Technology (MoIAT). The forum brought together leaders and innovators from 8 key sectors, including National Companies, Chemicals, Food, Pipelines, Technology and Sustainability, Mechanical and Equipment, Electrical, and Drilling, providing a platform for industry insights, investment opportunities, and showcasing products.

We were to handle the execution of critical IT works for the forum, which included network infrastructure, WiFi connectivity, as well as the creation of online product stores and landing pages for the various sectors represented.

The Challenge

Working on a large-scale forum like MIITE came with its set of challenges, particularly in terms of time constraints and the diverse requirements of multiple stakeholders. The client required the following services within a tight timeframe:

1. Development of 8 online product stores for the sectors represented at the forum.
2. Creation of landing pages to highlight investment opportunities for potential investors.
3. Setting up robust network infrastructure to ensure seamless connectivity for companies with exhibition stands and to facilitate smooth visitor registration.

Additionally, managing input from various stakeholders from different sectors added complexity to the project.

The Solution

Our approach was to balance both the digital and physical infrastructure needs. We adopted a detailed planning strategy to meet the tight deadlines and diverse service requirements:

• Digital Solutions: We worked extensively on back-end and front-end development, designing the landing pages and online stores to ensure that each sector was represented accurately. Data collection and verification were key steps, with over 160 products from multiple vendors needing careful review before uploading to the stores.
• Network Infrastructure: On the physical side, we implemented a high-performance cabling infrastructure, designed to meet the venue’s specific requirements. Wireless connectivity was secured throughout the event space, ensuring stable and reliable communication for exhibitors, attendees, and the forum’s registration process.

Implementation Process

With the fast-paced nature of exhibitions in the UAE, we initiated the project by conducting extensive meetings with the client to fully understand the venue’s infrastructure requirements. The forum’s multiple areas each required custom solutions for network connectivity, which we efficiently designed and implemented.

In parallel, our team worked on gathering, verifying, and uploading product data for the online stores. Accuracy was paramount, as we ensured that all 162 products were correctly presented, avoiding any discrepancies.

Our wireless network infrastructure provided reliable internet for hundreds of team members, contractors, and visitors, ensuring seamless operations during the event.

Results

A stable and secure network infrastructure was deployed, supporting hundreds of users and ensuring uninterrupted communication across the event.

• - 160 products were successfully verified and uploaded to the online stores.
• - 8 online stores were created, each equipped with QR codes for easy access by visitors.
• - Landing pages were designed and launched, presenting key opportunities from the Ministry to investors.

Client Feedback

The client was highly satisfied with the responsiveness and professionalism of our team. Despite numerous last-minute changes from different stakeholders, our team was able to adapt quickly, providing prompt feedback and implementing change orders efficiently.

Conclusion

The success of this project can be attributed to careful planning, continuous communication, and proactive project management. With many divisions and stakeholders involved, it became clear that taking the lead and being proactive were key to keeping the project on track. By staying ahead of the client’s needs and anticipating challenges, we were able to deliver a successful IT infrastructure solution for the forum, ensuring the event ran smoothly from start to finish.
