The Dablanco team was invited by Equinix to attend “Multicloud Networking, Made Simple,” a workshop held at Equinix DX3 in Dubai Production City, followed by a guided tour inside the data center.
The session, “Accelerating Digital Transformation with Multicloud Networking Made Simple,” was presented by Denis Dincic, Senior Solutions Architect at Equinix. It explored how businesses can connect multiple clouds privately and securely in minutes rather than weeks.
Why Multicloud Networking Matters
Most enterprises today run workloads across more than one cloud. More than 80% of Fortune 500 companies already use multiple cloud platforms, and Gartner expects 90% of organisations to adopt hybrid multicloud by 2027. Yet 73% of these organisations report that cloud complexity is slowing down their digital initiatives.
With AI workloads increasingly distributed across metro and edge locations, and legacy network architectures struggling to keep up, the session made a clear case for software-defined connectivity.
The Solutions Presented
Equinix walked attendees through its integrated interconnection platform:
- Equinix Fabric: private, software-defined connectivity to cloud providers, network providers and partners across 60+ metros worldwide
- Fabric Cloud Router: routing-as-a-service for hybrid multicloud environments, with no physical hardware required
- Network Edge: virtual routers, firewalls, SD-WAN and load balancers from 15 leading vendors, deployed on demand
- Fabric Insights: AI-powered observability for network health and performance
The highlight was the hands-on lab. Using Equinix platform the session showed how to provision a Fabric Cloud Router, connect it to both clouds, establish BGP peering, and bring up a redundant pair of 25G virtual connections over private interconnection. Traditionally, that work involves design, procurement and weeks of provisioning.
Inside the Data Center
Following the presentation, the team toured the DX3 facility and saw firsthand the infrastructure behind these services, the physical foundation that makes software-defined, cloud-to-cloud connectivity possible.
